Creative Banter Presents ‘Merge’
Unit 162B, Skypark 1, 8 Elliot Place, Glasgow, G3 8EP
6 September – 29 October 2013
The business landscape of Glasgows’ ‘Skypark’ opened the doors of Unit 162B on the 6th of September to a group of over 40 artists, makers and designers from in and around the Glasgow area. ‘Merge’, together with artist collaboration ‘rockpapervideo’, is an exhibition and platform developed by contributing artist Rebecca Glen and event manager Martin Jack. Their aims, to showcase the creative talents of a diverse group of individuals, who meet monthly to inform, support and participate under the collective that is, ‘Creative Banter’.
A broad range of work and method are on show, with all works sold on a profit free basis. Designers Sharon Kayne and Alwyn Main of Bide Design occupy a corner of the space displaying their ‘Country Scene’ cushions, alongside a selection of their other interior products. The painted glass work Spectrum, of Grey Wolf Graphics shines brightly in front of a glass backdrop while the etchings of Cassandra Barron demand an altogether closer inspection.
There is plenty on offer for the people of Glasgow to see and get involved in. Film nights, artists’ talks, drawing classes, workshops and tours are also programmed throughout the run of the exhibition with a networking event also planned for Tuesday 15th October.
